How does Fantasy Soap League "work"?
Fantasy Soap League is modeled after Fantasy Football. In Fantasy Football, you draft players from all different teams. You could have a running back on the Eagles and a kicker on the Ravens. You earn points on how each of your players performs. So even if the Ravens lose a game, but the kicker that you have on your Fantasy team does well, you will
earn points.
Fantasy Soap League is similar in that you draft a "fantasy" team, only it is a team of Soaps characters and Defining Soaps Moments. Erica Kane, Victor Newman and "Wearing red to a funeral" - these are your players! And you earn points when your characters are part of exciting storylines and the Defining Moments you choose happen. By watching your favorite Soaps and keeping tabs on your favorite characters, you will earn points. Watch, plot and win!

Which Soaps Characters and Defining Soaps Moments can earn points?
There is a set list of Soaps Characters and Defining Soaps Moments that can earn points. To see the complete list, go to Research Characters/Moments.
Can I add a Character or Moment to the list that I really like?
Because the Fantasy Soap League staff tracks the points each day, only a set list of Characters and Moments can be used. We have tried to make the list all-inclusive. We may add a Character or Moment and will announce it to all Fantasy Soap League participants. If you have a suggestion for a Character or Moment that you would like to see added, please feel free to email us!
How do Characters and Moments earn points?
There is a set list of Characters and Moments and a set list of point-earning opportunities. To see the list of Characters and Moments, go to Research Characters/Moments. To see how Characters and Moments earn points, see How Points Are Earned. Points are earned daily through the following Soap Operas:
All My Children, As the World Turns, Guiding Light, One Life to Live, General Hospital, The Young & The Restless, Days of Our Lives, Passions, and The Bold and the Beautiful
Coverage from SOAPnet.com, Soap Opera Digest, Soap Opera Weekly and special events like the Daytime Emmy Awards will also be scored.
Who tracks all the points? Do I need to?!
The Fantasy Soap League staff tracks all the points. Points are posted daily, Monday-Friday, by 12 noon EST. No points will be posted on national holidays.
How long can I play?
When you sign up to play Fantasy Soap League, you sign up for a 10-week cycle. It cost $9.99 to purchase a Line-Up Card that runs for those 10 weeks. Your 10-week cycle begins the weekday after you purchase your Line-Up Card. When your 10-week cycle is complete, you are welcome to purchase another 10-week Line-Up Card! Just go to the "Purchase" page to purchase a new Line-Up Card. And you are always welcome to play/purchase more than one Line-Up Card at a time!
Can I sign up at any time?
Absolutely! You pay $9.99 for 10 weeks. Your 10-week cycle begins the weekday after you purchase your $9.99 Line-Up Card.

How much does it cost?
It costs $9.99 to play for 10 weeks. Your 10-week cycle begins the weekday after you purchase your $9.99 Line-Up Card.
How do I pick the Characters/Moments I want for my team?
You are able to choose whichever Characters and Moments you want for your team. And you get to rank them to maximize the amount of points they earn for you. (See next question.) You make choices on a daily basis. You have access to your Line-Up Card every day! The choices you have listed on your Line-Up Card by 11:59 pm EST determines who will earn you Fantasy Soap League points for the following day. If you do not wish to change your Line-Up Card on a daily basis, the choices you make will continue on your Card until you change them.
On your Line-Up Card, you get to choose:
- 3 Female Soaps Characters
- 3 Males Soaps Characters
- 4 Defining Soaps Moments
What does Platinum, Gold, Silver and Bronze mean in my Line-Up Card?
When you choose 3 Female Soaps Characters, 3 Male Soaps Characters and 4 Defining Soaps Moments, you can decide which you want as Platinum, Gold, Silver and/or Bronze. How you assign each Character and Moment to a level will determine how many points they will earn for you. For example:
Platinum Soaps Moment earns you base points X 4
Gold Soaps Moment earns you base points X 3
Silver Soaps Moment earns you base points X 2
Bronze Soaps Moment earns you base points X 1
The different levels allow you to really strategize on how to make the most of your Fantasy Soap League Line-Up!
